Combination of Acupuncture and Cranial Sacral Therapy
Marianne integrates Acupuncture and Cranial Sacral Therapy in her treatments, creating a dynamic and advanced holistic form of diagnosis while gently encouraging the whole body towards wellness and optimal functioning.
Marianne uses the Cranial Sacral rhythm as a guide to locate where the Qi is not flowing smoothly. This is often the source of pain or discomfort. Once the source is located, the acupuncture needles are used to dispel the pain or discomfort, allowing the Qi to flow smoothly, creating a state of balance in the body.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a comprehensive system of healthcare that has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness for more than 3,000 years. It works with the body’s natural vital energies referred to as Qi (pronounced “Chee”) to promote a state of balance. When Qi flows smoothly, there is little occurrence of pain or discomfort because the body is in balance. If the flow of Qi is interrupted or blocked, the body becomes imbalanced causing pain and discomfort to occur. Acupuncture is used to unblock and restore the smooth flow of Qi.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
The Cranial Sacral System is composed of cerebral spinal fluid and membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The Cranial Sacral System extends from the bones of the skull and face (cranium), down the spine to the tailbone (sacrum). A gentle rhythm originates from the movement of the cerebral spinal fluid as it circulates through the system. By applying a gentle touch to the cranium, sacrum and connective tissue with subtle pressure and intention, the therapist uses the rhythm to feel where the Qi is blocked or not flowing smoothly.
